Best Ad of the Week

This McDonald’s campaign by Cossette is a masterclass in brand confidence and minimalist design. The ad features cropped sections of the iconic Golden Arches, used as directional cues on billboards to guide drivers to the nearest McDonald's. No logo. No product image. Just curves of yellow on a red background—and yet, instantly recognizable.

Why it works:

  • Brand Recognition: McDonald’s leans on the sheer recognizability of its visual identity. This ad wouldn't work for most brands, which makes it all the more powerful here.

  • Simplicity: No clutter. The ad relies on color, shape, and direction to communicate.

  • Function Meets Creativity: It serves a real function (wayfinding) while also reinforcing brand equity.

This is visual storytelling done right: minimal but memorable.

Weekly Tip

Craft a Call to Action Like a Story Prompt

Your CTA isn’t just a button—it’s a moment to continue the narrative. Instead of “Learn More” or “Buy Now,” try:

  • “See how it works”

  • “Join the insiders”

  • “Start your story here”

These subtle shifts make your CTA feel less like a command and more like a choice. They also reinforce the value on the other side of the click.

Weekly Challenge

Reimagine One Social Post Using Zero Text

Here’s your challenge: pick one high-performing or important social post from your recent archive. Recreate it using only imagery—no copy, no captions.

Ask yourself:

  • Can the visual tell the story alone?

  • Is your brand still recognizable?

  • What emotion or action does the image spark?

This is an exercise in restraint—and clarity. The best brands can say a lot with very little. Try it and compare performance.
