Start Using Visuals on X (Twitter)

Images and videos are key on Social Media.

Start using visuals

Using images or videos is key to driving people's attention.

There is more to it than you may think.

Let’s jump right into it!

In today’s post, you’ll learn:

  • Why it looks more professional

  • Why it improves readability

  • Why it boosts the algorithm

  • Why it increases conversions

Looks more professional

Images are a key factor when people see your content.

A good image is as important as the content itself.

"A picture is worth a thousand words", you know that, and it’s true. Using images can be a double-edged sword, though.

Using a great visual image can make you look like a professional, but using a low-quality one will make you a fool. No one will trust your brand.

If you suck at making visuals, don’t worry, I’ve got you. No need to use photoshop or anything fancy. Just open 1Canva, and you’ll figure it out.

Improves readability

Visuals are meant to bring clarity to your post. Or explain what isn’t obvious just by writing.

For example, if you are going to write a thread on Twitter, you should include an image on the first post, and include something so people know it’s not only one post but a thread.

Images can also be used to grab attention. When you include an image on a post, that’s like your thumbnail. The more it grabs people attention, the better.

Creating click-bait images is the goal. But we don’t want to overpromise and underdeliver. We should include an image that highlights the best of your post. Not something that has nothing to do.

Boosts the algorithm

Using images gives you a boost inside Twitter, and no, I’m not making this up. This is actually inside X code, if your post includes some tipe of visual it will get a 2X boost. That means you’ll reach twice as many people.

Here is the proof that it’s included in the algorithm:

As you can tell, images as well as videos receive a 2X boost.

Why? As far as I’ve researched, X is trying to become more like a TikTok app. It wants to retain people on it’s app, and as you know, TikTok is the best at getting people engaged (addicted).

Also, Elon Musk wants to make X the “Everything App“, which includes huge apps like YouTube. That’s why it’s trying so hard to get content creators on board. And what better way than giving video creators a 2X boost?

Increases conversions

There’s been a lot of research done on this topic.

How many ads have you seen that don’t include an image on it? Few or none.

The reason for that is obvious, including an image can boost conversion rates. If you want to drive traffic to your product, or your Twitter profile, it doesn’t matter which, including images gives you a huge advantage.

3Reliable sources claim that including images increases the click rate on any post by 42%.
