How to Rebrand on X (Twitter)
How Alex Finn rebranded his Social Media.
From NFT GOD to Alex Finn
In this 2’ article, I’ll break down everything Alex Finn (former NFT GOD) did to successfully rebrand his whole account
Rebranding usually fucks up your account, as most of your followers won’t be able to recognize you
Let’s jump right into it!
In this post, you’ll learn:
Who is Alex
Analyzing his profile
Why he rebranded
How he rebranded
Who is Alex?
Alex Finn has over 180K followers on X, he is always sharing tips about X, as well as breaking down all the news on the platform
He regularly hosts spaces on X, as well as writes in his newsletter, he shares one of the best content on Twitter
He has been a supporter of the web3 community for years, he started 2 years ago as a side hobby while he coped with work, and recently he quit his 9-5 job, to pursue his hobby, and has succeeded in doing so
It was Alex the one who inspired me to start my newsletter
Analyzing his profile
First, let’s look into his profile, and see if we can learn something…
Profile Picture, and name:
He uses his name, and the profile picture is excellent, plain color, matching his brand color, and great contrast to highlight his face
Banner:
He promotes his brand, and his main product, which is his newsletter, it uses just two colors, with great contrast to immediately grab everyone's attention
Bio:
He gives reasons for people to follow him, this improves his conversion rate, making more people who see his profile actually follow him
Pin post:
He shares a cool video, about a new TV series he is doing, the video proves he shares high-quality content
Why he rebranded
His old profile was holding him back, as most people don’t really trust NFTs or the people who “promote them”
His name “NFT GOD“, and having an NFT picture, wasn’t doing him any good, yeah, it helped him grow inside the web3 community, but it get’s to a point where you can’t grow anymore inside your nich, and that’s where he was
He wanted to grow much more and decided to remove everything that could relate him to NFTs, to become a different person, someone who talks about X, and who is knowledgeable about everything, not only about NFTs
Completely detaching himself from the web3 community, allows him to grow at a way faster rate, and also, all the web3 community who supported him before, still support him now
How he rebranded
The rebranding consisted of changing both his name and profile, as well as stopping engaging as much with the web3 community
Rebranding is all about, making slight changes, getting people used to it, and then making another change until you finally get the result you wanted
If you rebrand overnight, no one will know that’s you
For this he took a long approach, he started rebranding 6 months ago
Here is what he did:
He changed his name from NFT GOD to NFT GOD (Alex Finn)
Then he changed his name again from NFT GOD (Alex Finn) to Alex Finn (NFT GOD)
Finally, he changed his name from Alex Finn (NFT GOD) to only Alex Finn
And then, he finally changed his Profile Picture
Something interesting, about his subtle changes, is that you could always know that was him, even if you had been offline for a few months, as he kept his Image the same throughout the process
Finally, when he changed his PFP, although this was the most dramatic change, he kept it similar, by keeping the same background color, which everyone relates with him
When he changed the PFP, I had no clue who that was at first until I saw the color on the PFP, then I realized that had to be him, I checked his name, and it was Alex
I wouldn’t have recognized him if he hadn’t been rebranding his name for almost 6 months, if you ever want to rebrand don’t rush, take it slowly, and you’ll win in the long term
