How to get better followers on Social Media

Quality over quantity

I’d rather have 10 loyal followers than 10K who don’t even know who I am.

Today, I’ll explain why quality followers are the only kind of followers you should have.

Let’s jump right into it!

In today’s post, you’ll learn:

  • Why loyal followers are the best.

  • I stopped following over 1k accounts.

  • Clean your followers.

  • Avoid bad followers.

Why loyal followers are the best:

There are many reasons why having engaged followers is the best thing for your account:

First, loyal followers bring authentic interactions, which helps you build a strong community around you, and consequently also make more people feel engaged and start following your content.

By creating a sense of community, members of the community will feel a connection to you and your content, they will be the first to engage with your content.

These loyal followers will blow all your posts up, it’s no wonder why your favorite content creator always has banger posts, his community helps him boost those posts, by engaging with them.

Also, loyal followers will always tell you when you’ve messed up, and where you are on the right track, they are your best source of feedback.

And finally, if this wasn’t enough, loyal followers are the ones who will make you money, they are the ones who will sign up for anything you do, the first to consume your new product, or buy your latest course.

I stopped following over 1k accounts.

I know I don’t want to have bad accounts following me, but I also don’t want to follow bad accounts.

Yesterday I decided to stop following bad accounts, and so I did, I spent the next hours deleting people whom I followed one by one. My criteria was simple:

  • If it follows more people than the number of followers, out.

  • If all it does is promote something, out.

  • If it uses hashtags on its bio, out.

  • If it doesn’t follow me, out.

That way I cleared over 30% of the people who I was following, and I’m not finished. I’ll keep cleaning people when I have some more time.

Clean your followers.

I haven’t done this yet, but I’m about to, I’m going to delete followers, I strongly believe the key to blowing up on social media, is having quality and engaged followers. And some of my followers are no longer engaged.

Maybe they just saw one post and decided to follow me, but then, they were not interested in my next posts. Whatever the reasons may be, I don’t want to have unengaged followers, why would I? To show off, and say I have more followers than you? That’s stupid. Having 100 inactive followers is just the same as having no followers. So you lose nothing by deleting those followers.

Also, I was thinking about this lately, how is it that I used to get more views when I was a small account, than I do now? And it’s not the algorithm, as I see smaller accounts, get 10 times more views and engagement than me. The reason is that although they have few followers, those followers are engaged, and boost their content.

I’ve just found a tool to massively delete followers, it’s audience, wish I had found this yesterday (not promo).

Avoid bad followers.

The best way to delete these bad/inactive followers is by not getting them in the first place.

The only thing you want to do is talk about one topic, and don’t move far away from that topic. I believe one of the problems with my account, is that I talk about everything and engage with everyone. I used to share memes and get thousands of views, and I also sometimes talk about crypto, all of which leads to having an audience that is partially interested in what I talk about. When I talk about something, only a few of my followers are also interested in that topic.

I need to get myself new followers, and probably so do you. That’s why I recommend you only keep the most active followers on your page and delete everyone else. As tough as this sounds, it’s the right approach if you are here for the long run.
