Personalization is the key behind marketing.

The key for any successful brand is having a unique personalization.

Think of a color, now name a brand that you associate with that color. That’s the key behind big brands success, you can apply that same logic to your own brand.

Let’s jump right into it!

In today’s post, you’ll learn:

  • Why is personalization so important?

  • How to make your content more personal.

Is this you?

  • I want to convert subscribers to a paid offering

  • I want to package my best ideas into a product

  • I want to learn how to TEACH the things I know really well

Why is personalization so important?

Every brand must be easily recognizable. That way, every time you see a color, you think about them. The same occurs inside social media.

When I’m scrolling through X feed, I rarely focus on who is the user sharing the post, I only pay attention to the content, and most time, I recognize the user that way.

For example, I try to always share images with a yellow background, why? Because that way, my followers are able to recognize me with ease.

Why is this important?

When you know you are watching a friend’s post, you are way more likely to interact with them, than if it's a post from a random user. Thanks to this, more people engage with my content, because as soon as they see it, they know it’s me. Someone who they are used to engaging with.

How to make your content more personal.

I know everything that I’ve mentioned before is easier said than done, that’s why I want to share a few tips, to make this process much easier:

  • Use recognizable colors. You want to create a palette of colors, two or three, and use them across all your posts. For example, mine is basically pale-yellow and dark-blue. It creates great contrast, and it’s easy to recognize.
Take Fanta as an example, as soon as you see just a few colors on and ad, you already know it’s them.
This colors, should also be used in your profile picture.

  • Talk to the user as if they were your friends. Unless you are sharing very professional focused content, this approach usually helps to connect easier with people on X, or any other social media platform.

  • Get a recognizable name. I run a different account than my main one, my name is: Space_JG.
Simple to remember, and most importantly, everyone knows what it’s about. Space, obviously.

  • Use a similar structure across your posts. Each person prefers one way or another of presenting their content. But if you are for instance writing a thread, you may want to make all your threads the same. You want to keep:

    • Same way to number each tweet on the that 1.; 1/3; 1️⃣; or however you prefer.

    • Use blank spaces between each lines in all your posts.

    • Use a unique structure. In your body part of a thread. For example, start with a question and answer it. Or point out a problem and fix it.

There are many ways to make your content more personal, but I think this are the main ones to take into account.
