Don't Post Shit on Social Media
It will ruin your brand on X (Twitter).
Don’t post shit
Posting poor content kills your account.
And you post a ton of it.
Let’s jump right into it!
In this post, you’ll learn:
How bad content affects your brand
Why it’s holding you back
How to fix it
How bad content affects your brand
Sharing bad content is like poison. The more you post it, the worse your account gets.
You probably think your account is alright, you share quality posts here and there, and some threads, but that’s not enough. If you are one of those who are sharing posts just for the sake of getting some quick engagement, you are on the wrong path. You need to cut that out, asap.
Going from posting good content sometimes to always, is a small step, yet a huge leap for your account.
If you only post quality people associate you with a good content creator, on the other hand, even if you only sometimes share posts for engagement (engagement farming) people will consequently think your account is rubbish, and sadly they won’t engage with your content.
Why it’s holding you back
You surely think that the more engagement you get the better, and that’s sort of true, but not necessarily. There are some cases when getting a lot of engagement can be harmful to your account.
How? Let me use a simple example, if you engage with soccer content and get followed by the fandom of a soccer team, and your content is not about soccer, all those followers won’t engage with you, consequently, your engagement rate will plump.
On the other hand, replying only thoughtful replies to people in your niche will be much better, for obvious reasons, only people who do love your content will follow you, and you’ll get yourself a lot of engaged followers.
Another great reason to stop sharing bad content is that you will build a fandom. No one is a fan of someone who shares shit. No one sets notifications for someone who shares engagement farming content. And let me tell you something, if there’s one indicator of success in social media, that’s how many people have your notifications on. They are your true followers and the ones who will boost anything you share.
How to fix it
I bet the main reason you don’t share good content is you don’t have time, right? The good all excuse.
Well, I have important exams next week, yet I managed to find a few minutes here and there to write this email, which although is not as polished as I would like it, I had to come up with something.
Here is what you can do, quit posting shit, it’s that simple. Instead of wasting time posting bad content, use that time to create less but much better content.
And you won’t have to worry about your account, about not posting too much, or as often as you would love to. Quality is much better than quantity, a few good posts can get you much further, than what average posts can.
In order to blow up, people must be willing to share your content, and people only share the best content. Now you know what you have to do.
Hope you found today’s email helpful, looking forward to seeing you next Monday.
