Why to automate DMs?

Cold DMs are key to building connections, they are also critical to get new clients.

Every business uses cold messages, you’ve surely received a message or an email from some business, giving you a discount or showing you their latest collection. That’s a cold message.

When you are using Twitter or any social media, something very important is getting to know your audience. A great way to do so is by talking directly to them. Most people won’t send you a DM, that’s why you need to be the one who takes the first step. But that can be a hard task.

Luckily, there is an easy way to solve that, sending automated messages to the people who engage with your content.

What DMs to automate?

You may be wondering what to automate, to make cold messages effective.

Here there are several effective examples:

  • Explain to someone who you are and what you do through DM when they follow you.

  • Send a DM when someone engages with your content, and let them know other available content you have.

  • When discussing a specific project (a video, a guide, a newsletter…), and someone engages, send him a DM, with a link to it (It boosts conversions).

Anything you can think about, you can send an automatic DM.

Everyone uses it. Take a look at this post that was posted yesterday and has over half a million views.

Do you think he manually sent a DM to each one of the thousands of accounts? Of course he didn’t, he was smart and automated the task.

That way, he managed to save himself hundreds of hours going back and forth with people. And NOW, you can do the same. I’ll teach you how in the following step.

How to automate DMs:

I recently gave it a try, to make sure I could explain in detail how it’s done. You can reply to that post, to get your DM, and verify it works:

There are a number of apps you can use, I recommend Tweet Hunter, but there are also a number of options available, which include HyperFury, Hivoe, Socialoomph, and CrowdFire.

The one I use is Tweet Hunter, that’s the one I’ll be covering, the other ones are similar. Tweet Hunter has a free trial, which is very helpful. You can give it a try, and if you don’t like it after the free trial, then, you may want to go and try a different platform, but I believe Tweet Hunter has a lot of helpful features, and get the work done with precision.

Here is all you need to do:

  1. Join Tweet Hunter free trial.

  2. Write a post inside Tweet Hunter. You can find it on the compose tab.

  3. Click advanced-settings, you can find it just below your post, before publishing it.

  4. Then, you have to set the conditions for the DM to be sent.

  5. Finally, you have to write what you want to send.

That’s all you need, EASY!! Now you’ve just saved yourself countless hours.

Similarly, you can do the same, for the different automations I mentioned at the beginning of the post.
