Follow your passion

The only way to succeed

Follow your passion

Most people are unable to work on something they love. Hopefully that isn't your case.

But, as you are interested in social media, you better be posting about something you love.

Let’s jump right into it!

In today’s post, you’ll learn:

  • Why you need to follow your passion.

  • How to work in what you love.

  • My personal experience.

  • Conclusion.

Why you need to follow your passion.

When you follow your passion, you no longer have to “work“, yeah, you still need to spend lots of hours doing something in order to get some money, but, it will no longer feel like work.

When you do something you love, you are able to do it for countless hours without feeling burnt out. If you have ever played video games, you know it. You are hooked into it. You would even pay in order to do that. Now imagine, if you could do that thing you are in love with, and get paid for it. That's what working your true passion looks like.

Also, there are several other benefits to working on something you enjoy.

Satisfaction: the feeling between doing something you have to do, and doing something you want to do makes the difference. When you do what you want to do, you feel way better with yourself, than how you would feel if you were doing something for someone else, or an external reason.

Motivation: similarly to the previous reason, when you are doing something you like, you are going to feel like doing that thing. Unlike when you are forced to do something.

Inspiring others: when you are doing something you love. You are going to transmit your knowledge with great passion. This doesn’t come unnoticed, and it will resemble in people feeling in love with your passion.

How to work in what you love.

I know it isn’t easy to work just in whatever you want, as you are probably studying or working at something, that is far from your passion. If this is your case, you need to change that ASAP.

If I were you, I would try to start with some sort of side-hustle that is 100% related to your passion. There are a lot of possible side-hustles, that hopefully eventually will be able to become your main source of income, that way you’ll be able to work on what you love.

Some side-hustles you can try are:

Newsletter: creating a newsletter, talking about the subject you are passionate about, can become a great source of revenue. It also, doesn’t require much time. You can spend as much time as you wish on it.

Blog: if you don’t like the idea of creating a newsletter, you may want to create a blog. Where you can share everything you wish. You can also make a great income through ads and referrals.

Content creation: if you didn’t like the previous methods, you may want to become a professional content creator. By posting about your passion on every social media platform. Including long and short form videos, blogs and posts with images or text across different platforms. To learn more, check my blog.

My personal experience.

Hopefully for me, I don’t have to work on a 9 to 5 for now. But that may soon become a reality, for now, I’m studying. But at the same time, I’m trying my best, to try and stay active with my newsletter, which I consider my main side-hustle, and it’s something I truly enjoy.

But, I’ve been thinking about what my passion truly is, and maybe it isn’t so much talking about social media, and more about science, which is related to what I’m going to study on College for the next 4 or more years. That’s why I may try to create a side-hustle which is related to that subject. If you love what you are studying, or your job. You can also follow your passion, by having some sort of side-hustle which is related.

And I think, that’s what I need to do. Maybe you should also give that a try. For the time being, I’ll keep posting consistent newsletter issues, as I do enjoy teaching other people. But maybe, I would love better to keep teaching, but instead of marketing, something more related to science. I’ll think about it, and you should too.

Conclusion.

All that being said, I consider you must try starting a side-hustle related to your true passion. You’ll feel great satisfaction with that project. Way more than what you would ever get, working on something you don’t truly love.

Even, if you don’t have that much time, just starting with spending a couple of minutes every day into your tiny side-hustle, will eventually make a huge difference.

As most times, the great effort relies on taking that very first step. Everything else, will fell in place.
